ANNOUNCEMENT: John Cook to join CRC as Grain Merchant


John Cook will join Central Region Cooperative as a Grain Merchant beginning early December.


He is originally from Sleepy Eye, earned a degree in Agribusiness Management with a marketing and procurement emphasis from Southwest Minnesota State University-Marshall. For the past five years, Cook was a feed ingredient buyer for Christensen Family Farms and Feedlots of Sleepy Eye managing corn buying for the company owned feed mills, setting daily bids and creating origination strategies as well as procuring soybean meal, hulls and DDGS. Prior to that, John was a procurement merchandiser for CHS, Inc. trading soybeans and soybean oil for the Mankato and Fairmont soybean processing plants and ran truck and rail logistics for FOB beans and delivering soybean meal. 


CRC is excited that John has agreed to join its team bringing with him years of experience in commodity merchandising, hedging, supply chain sourcing, hog production, and professional sales. 


John will serve as a grain merchant working with producers throughout CRC's service territory, based from the Buffalo Lake office location. He can be reached direct by calling (320) 833-3005.
